Candover Valley Gardening Club

Picture of small skipper butterfly on knapweedMeets on the third Thursday of each month in the Village Hall.

During the winter months a guest speaker is invited to each meeting.  In spring and summer, instead of having formal meetings the club visits interesting gardens, specialist nurseries etc.

There are two main events during the year, the Open Show (flowers, vegetables, cakes) and the Plant Sale.

Caterpillars Toddler Group

Friendly local toddler group held every Tuesday from 10am to 11.30am at Preston Candover Village Hall.

First session free, £1.50 thereafter including tea/coffee.

Baby Clinic - the Health Visitor from Alresford Surgery visits the toddler group on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Preston Candover Tennis Club

Picture of Tennis Club HouseThis well attended club meets every Friday evening, summer and winter, to take advantage of the three well-kept hard courts and modern clubhouse with changing and kitchen facilities.

The club caters for all age groups from juniors through to senior citizens and provides for those who want to play for fun and those who enjoy competitive tennis.

Picture of tennis courtsThe club is involved in the local Basingstoke league and a number of club tournaments are held throughout the year to provide friendly competition.

Group and individual coaching is available for both adults and children, provided by the club's two coaches.

Branch meetings are held at Field House, Upper Wield every four months and are advertised in The Oxdrove magazine.

Wield Cricket Club

Sunday afternoon village cricket in a beautiful setting, opposite the Yew Tree pub, what could be better!  The club welcomes new members.

Womens Institute

Although there is no branch of the WI based in Preston Candover or Nutley there are two branches nearby, both welcoming new members.

One is based in Wield, the other in Swarraton and Northington.
